Lady Gaga, also known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanyotta began her professional career as a musical theatre and burlesque performer in the East Village in New York, seemingly attempting to follow in the footsteps of night club performers gone superstars like Bette Midler and Madonna. After struggling for many years until she finally found a method to record her debut album and also creating songs for Fergie and Britney Spears. The first album she released, "The Fame", was not particularly success. But, only five months after it was released, "Just Dance", her first single, went on to become an international hit. It was clear that her constant touring across Europe and smaller clubs in America resulted in a positive outcome. Numerous songs from the album were playing regularly in the radio by 2009 and she had earned numerous Grammy nominations. The singer also took home two Grammy Awards for her perseverance and determination. Her music has been a huge hit and continues to be a major news story.
